Job summary

The Burbage Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, and forward-thinking Advance Nurse Practitioner to join our established and respected medical practice.

This is ideally a 30 hours per week role at the surgery but part-time would also be considered. GP practice experience is preferable, however we would consider an experienced nurse with prescribing qualifications from A&E, Walk-in centre and out of hours. We encourage staff development & support training.

Salary is dependent on experience & qualifications and the role includes NHS pension, 6 weeks annual leave pro-rata.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will manage a clinical caseload, dealing with presenting patients needs in a primary care setting and assist in managing the home visit requests. You would act within your professional boundaries and with a holistic approach and be supported by the wider clinical team.

Main duties of the job

The perfect candidate for us would be a forward thinker, enthusiastic individual with initiative, keen to work within a team of like-minded colleagues.

The post holder is an experienced nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

About us

We are a high achieving dispensing practice actively involved in training, teaching & clinical drug trials. In addition to the usual clinical services, we have GPs with extended roles in ENT and Dermatology. The list size is currently 11,624 patients and continuing to expand. Our team consists of 4 partners, 2 salaried GPs and a full team of nurses and support staff. We work in a state-of-the-art surgery following a recent 3.2-million-pound refurbishment and development. In addition to our dispensary, we have an onsite pharmacy and ultrasound diagnostics. We pride ourselves in offering a friendly, supportive working environment & strive to provide the highest standards of patient care Burbage is a large village which is situated close to the M69 motorway, centrally located between the cities of Leicester and Coventry Previous NHS experience is not essential but desirable. The successful candidate will need to be well organised, have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work within a diverse team.

  • Registered General Nurse or HCPC (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or HCPC)
  • Evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration
  • Educated to BSc level or equivalent experience
  • Accredited Advanced Nurse / Paramedic Practitioner Programme
  • Nurse Independent Supplementary Prescribing V300 / Non Medical Prescribing qualification

Desirable

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
