Vacancy Medical Receptionist
Salary £9.71 to £10.51 per hour (= £917.68 to
£993.29 per month)
Job share 21.75 hours per week.
We have a vacancy for a receptionist to join the
existing reception team doing a variety of work in our busy GP practice. You
will work alongside doctors, nurses and other administrative staff. Previous
experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Tasks will include dealing with patient queries both face to face and on the
telephone, taking prescription requests, updating patient records, liaising
with doctors on patient queries, reception work, telephone answering, booking
patient appointments and general clerical duties. The post offers 4 weeks
holiday per annum.
Main duties of the job
Applicants need to have good computer skills and be
familiar with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
This role is a job share post - as such you will be
employed with a job share partner, and will be contractually obliged to work
overtime to cover their absences - holiday, sickness etc. Please be aware that
you will need to work flexibly as described.
About us
The Village Green Surgery is a busy urban GP
practice with ten doctors, three nurses and four healthcare assistants. The
clinicians are supported by two managers, three supervisors and fourteen
administrative staff. We are a happy team which socialises together regularly
including nights out and walking days out.

team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors,
either in person or via the telephone

- Pulling/filing
notes for surgeries and update as necessary

and scanning post into medical records

and photocopy as requested
Reception

completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.

able to cover all reception positions as necessary

- Process
appointment requests for the same day and future appointments from
patients by telephone and in person.

with visit requests
Computer

all computer data and medical records

repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines.
Telephone
- Have
a good working knowledge of telephone/switchboard system.
Other Tasks
- Lock
up rooms after surgeries
- Ensure
building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.

other tasks allocated by managers
