Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly professional to join our non-clinical support team in processing repeat prescription requests. Computer experience is required. We use EMIS clinical system.
Previous experience working in general practice would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
To support the dispensary team by providing clerical and administrative support, ensuring that patients repeat medication requests are processed in line with practice protocols.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the dispensary
Job responsibilities:
To maintain complete confidentiality at all times in matters relating to patients, their carers, practice staff and the business of the practice.
To process repeat prescription requests, adhering to practice protocols and standard operating procedures. This will include requests received by post, email and on-line requests.
You will be responsible for making sure that patients who are taking regular medications for any chronic diseases are up to date with their annual reviews and contacting patients to book when required.
To attend training sessions as required, either in-house or within reasonable travelling distance of the Practice.
Other duties appropriate, to the job role, as delegated from time to time by the line manager

We are a team of 5 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GP, Clinical Pharmacist, Paramedics, Nurses, HCA's and other clinicians from our Primary Care Network.We are also aGP Training Practice.
The Practice is located in the picturesque village of Lenham, on the outskirts of Maidstone. There is a train line service in Lenham, but your own transport would be more reliable.
This is a busy and forward thinking practice with a good support network.

Regularly check email, Tasks and Messages

Ensure that outstanding matters and information are handed over to
colleagues at end of shift/day
Be Conversant with Emis, Patient Access and email.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures
Answer telephone calls in a friendly, polite and professional manner
