Location: Eleanor Cross Healthcare, Northampton NN4 8QFHours: Full time, 37.5 FTESalary: depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic and supportive general practice team in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced primary care setting.

• Assess, diagnose, and treat a range of acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications within your scope of practice.

• Registered Nurse (RN) with NMC registration.
• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (including prescribing rights).
• Significant clinical experience, ideally in primary care.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and decision-making skills.

• Experience in chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma).
• Proficiency with electronic patient record systems (e.g., EMIS Web, SystmOne).

Main duties of the job

An Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is a registered nurse with advanced education and clinical training who provides high-quality care in a variety of healthcare settings. Key duties include:

1. Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive physical exams, take detailed medical histories, and order diagnostic tests to assess patients' health conditions.

2. Treatment and Management: Develop and implement care plans, prescribe medications, and provide treatment for acute and chronic conditions. ANPs may also manage and follow up on ongoing care.

3. Clinical Decision-Making: Make autonomous clinical decisions, interpreting diagnostic results and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

4. Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

5. Health Promotion and Education: Educate patients and their families about disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and self-management techniques.

6. Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Engage in ongoing education and research to ensure that clinical practice aligns with the latest evidence and standards of care.

7. Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership within healthcare teams and mentor less-experienced nurses and staff.

ANPs are often employed in primary care, urgent care, specialty clinics, and hospital settings, with some practicing independently in specific roles or as part of a collaborative care team.

Eleanor Cross Healthcare is a duel sited GP Practice in Northampton. We currently provide care for over 19,500 registered patients.

The team is made up of 9 partners (7 GP), 4 salaried GP's, a nursing team of 12, inclusive of HCA's, 14 care navigators, 13 admin/secretarial team members and several managers.
