Job summary

Page Hall Medical Centre is a GP practice in the suburb of Page Hall. The area is highly deprived, with a large number of patients not having English as a first language.

Around 40% of our consultations require an interpreter.

You will work alongside a team of 2 practice nurses, a nurse associate and an HCA.

We have 5 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs and an academic GP as well as 2 physicians associate.

We are a training practice, that offers placements to GPs, PAs and nurses. We promote growth within the team and support team members to excel in their chosen fields.

Main duties of the job

As a practice nurse, you will be expected to have some knowledge of long term conditions such as diabetes, asthma and cervical smears.

You would be required to understand and implement adult and child vaccinations and work alongside our team to promote these.

You would be trained to develop, implement and evaluate individual plans to promote health and well being, to include advice around over the counter medicines, family planning services and self care.

We are a proactive team, that supports our patients to access appropriate health care at the appropriate time.

As many of our patients do not have English as a first language, we have had to think of different ways of working to facilitate health care needs.

Across the ream, we have around 20 different languages spoken, including Urdu, Arabic, Slovak and even Danish.

We provide a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and personal development.

We have an open door policy across the team and share lots of learning throughout the MDT.

We implement lots of QI changes and we are always happy for new ideas, opinions and changes in order to improve efificenties and better outcomes for our patients.

  • BSc (Honours) Nursing

Desirable
