Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Practice Team, you will deal with a wide range of presenting health care needs in a primary care setting. Working with clinical colleagues, you will ensure the highest standard of care for registered patients.

Ashley Centre Surgery is a forward thinking, well-established growing practice located in the heart of Epsom Town in Surrey. We moved to a brand-new purpose-built surgery in 2021.
Within 15 miles of the center of London, served by excellent public transport links and close to J9 of the M25, we are nestled on the edge of the beautiful South Downs.
We were recently inspected by CQC (November 2022) achieving a good rating overall and we achieve a consistently high QOF score
Our list is over 10,000 patients and growing. We have 4 partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 Practice nurses and a Health Care Assistant. We work with an extended clinical team including a Pharmacist, First-contact Physio, Paramedics and Social Prescribers.
As a Training Practice we have 2 GP trainers and currently host 2 Registrars. We are a Student Hub for St Georges medical students
We provide specialty clinics including minor ops / implant and coil fits.
We operate EMIS, Docman and AccuRx systems.

Job responsibilities
- The post-holder will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary health care setting, undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and approving repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making
professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether
self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the
organisation.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and
undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing care plans for health management in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Providing
counselling and health education.

Making appropriate and timely referral of patients for further opinion and
treatment

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
including the recording of appropriate information for the Quality and Outcomes
Framework and Enhanced Services.

Appropriate medicine prescribing for both acute and repeat requirement in
accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and guidelines whenever this
is clinically appropriate.

Timely assessment of incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to
both patient and non-patient information as required. Using the appropriate
electronic systems.

Participate in training plans of GP registrar, medical and nursing students as
required.
