Job summary

Dr Dowsett & Overs/GPSuite, Palmer Community Hospital in Jarrow are looking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/ Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our friendly and professional team to start as soon as possible. Band 7/8a depending on experience, both full time and part time hours will be considered. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills. This role may involve managing a small team of practice nursing staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an experienced practitioner who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of the GP contracts, policies, and procedure. To work at this level, NMC requirements for advanced practice must be met, including non-medical prescribing and clinical skills.

About us

We are a small, friendly GP Practice based in Jarrow with a supportive team of clinical/administrative staff. Our team consists of two GP Partners, Business Manager, Practice Manager, One Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Two Practice Nurses, one Trainee Nursing Associate and an excellent administrative team. We have a list size of approximately 4750 patients.
