Canterbury Health Centre is a friendly, patient focused practice in the heart of Canterbury, caring for approximately 8,000 registered patients. We pride ourselves on providing truly patient centred care with an emphasis on continuity, compassion, and high clinical standards.
As an HCA, you will become a valued member of our small and supportive nursing team, working alongside an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and five GPs. Our practice delivers a wide range of services, including long term condition management, contraception services, anticoagulation clinics, cervical screening, NHS Health Checks, and childhood immunisations.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the Role- Provide high quality clinical support to the nursing and GP team, including tasks such as phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, urinalysis, and wound care within competency and training.
- Assist in the delivery of routine health checks, long term condition reviews, and health promotion activities.
- Support the practices immunisation and screening programmes where appropriate.
- Accurately record patient information and observations in clinical systems in line with practice protocols.
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas, ensuring cleanliness, adequate stock levels, and adherence to infection control standards.
- Contribute to the smooth running of clinics by welcoming patients, helping them feel at ease, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support safe, effective, and patient centred care.

Canterbury Health Centre is a friendly, patient focused GP practice serving a population of around 8,000 patients in central Canterbury. Our clinical team includes five GPs and two nurses, one of whom is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, supported by an experienced administrative and reception team of 11 staff. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, patient centred care with a strong emphasis on continuity, teamwork, and a supportive working environment. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to provide a wide range of services while ensuring a personal and compassionate experience for our patients.
