Job summary
Oaklands Health Centre and Slaithwaite Health Centre are
looking to recruit an enthusiastic and friendly Physician Associate to join our
expanding practices. The position is
offered on a full time basis across both our practices, either over 4 or 5
days. You will have full support from
our 3 partners with supervision and mentorship to further enhance your clinical
skills and progression within the role.
Main duties of the job
Provide care for the
presenting patient within your capabilities from focused history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis,
treatment and evaluation of care.
Demonstrate safe, clinical
decision making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills,
for patients within the service.
Demonstrate critical
thinking in the decision making process. You will work collaboratively with the
healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients and support the delivery of
policy and procedures.
Help with the delivery of QOF to our patients
Be involved in team meetings, audits, QI projects

Oaklands Health Centre and Slaithwaite Health Centre are separate practices but run by the same partners. Both practices are involved in training clinicians of the future, we currently have medical students, PA students, ANPs and Paramedics in training across both practices. Job responsibilities
- Providing direct clinical care for patients including clinical assessments, diagnosis and treatment. Taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, analysing, diagnosing and explain medical problems.
- Working with the practice team to deliver services to meet the needs of the patients.
- Consulting and referring patients as necessary
- Requesting and interpreting results of laboratory investigations when necessary.
- Instructing and educating patients in preventative healthcare.
- Conducting telephone consultations, which may involve discussing the result and implications of laboratory investigations with patients as well as dealing appropriately with routine and emergency complaints.
- Fully documenting all aspects of patient care and completing all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes.
- Helping with the delivery of QOF
- Involvement with the monthly practice team meeting
- Helping with the delivery of extended access
