We are searching for x3 aspiring apprentice Student Nurses who would like to start their careers within our Primary Care Network in Northamptonshire.
MWEB PCN serve 37,000 patients in the Northamptonshire area, made up of 4 practices and 2 branch sites.With all demographics there are significant health challenges and our PCN is no exception. Our aim is to deliver excellent care, and you will be part of an experienced, stable and happy team providing both acute and chronic healthcare interventions.
We are looking to offer this apprenticeship opportunity in partnership with the University of Northampton. We are aware the next course intake is not until Jan/Feb 2025, therefore we are offering you the uniqueopportunity to join us as a GP Assistant, transitioning to the Trainee Nurse Associate role when your University course begins in early 2025.
You will work in a capacity of a Healthcare Assistant, whilst you go through the academic interview and University onboarding process.
Main duties of the job
To be eligible for the Programme youll need to hold a minimum of English and Mathematics at GCSE grade C/4 or Functional or Key Skills at Level 2. These qualifications must be gained prior to course start date.
You will need to hold a valid Full UK Driving License; this role is based within the GP surgery but on occasion you may be required to travel to peoples homes or local Nursing homes to help with vaccination programmes.
Previous HCA experience is essential for this role.
You will need to demonstrate an understanding of General Practice healthcare and the services that we provide. We expect you to understand the roles and responsibilities of a Nursing Associate in a Primary Care in a General Practice setting. The role is challenging, and you will need to use your initiative and perform under pressure.
You will need to be an effective communicator with the people you care for, their families and carers, as well as your colleagues and superiors.
You will need to be prepared to work hard and undertake study in your own time as you work towards becoming a qualified Nursing Associate. During this challenging programme you will learn the fundamentals of essential care and develop your depth of knowledge around important aspects of both physical and mental health. In addition, you will be taught many clinical skills which will be required throughout the course and also when you become a registered Nursing Associate.
