GP CARE CO-ORDINATOR/RECEPTIONIST.

We are looking for a care co-ordinator/receptionist to join our friendly and high
achieving GP practice in South Bristol.
Have you got good people skills, can you communicate
clearly, do you enjoy the buzz of a busy environment?
Experience is not required but a desire to learn and develop
your skills and knowledge is essential. To

Flexibility is essential
15 to 20 hours per
week worked flexibly between 8am and 7pm but will include Friday evenings to 6.30pm.
Salary starting at £10.90 per hour.

Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient and effective Reception
and Medical Records service to patients and doctors.

on the Knowle West health park in Bristol.

appointments, reports and preventative medical care.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- To
register patients on the computer system as having arrived for their
appointments
- To
follow practice protocols and pathways to ensure consistency of service
- To
make future appointments on the computer system for patients following agreed
pathways and protocols
- To
ask patients agreed questions and signpost to alternative services
- To
issue repeat prescriptions using the clinical computer software, and pass
them to appropriate clinician for electronic signing
- To
act as the initial contact for all persons entering the Health Centre
- To
register new patients, and temporary residents when necessary
- To
answer all telephone enquiries
- To
scan and download documents into patient records
- To
respond to all ad hoc requests for assistance from the Doctors or reception
co-ordinator
- To
contact patients at the request of the doctors
- To
liaise with other health care workers as necessary
- To
monitor the practice e mail account and respond to queries in line with agreed
processes.
In
the absence of the reception co-ordinator, to allocate test results and prescriptions
to doctors.
In the
absence of the care co-ordinator, undertake routine searches for patients
requiring contraceptive & HRT checks.
