Job summary

Fireclay Health is looking for a clinical coder and summariser for 30 hours per week who can also offer general administrative support as required by the organisation. Although we can offer flexibility on hours the successful candidate must be able to work on a Friday.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the coding and summarising of relevant information into patient's electronic healthcare records in the EMIS clinical system whilst adhering to practice protocols. In addition, they will provide administrative support as required in line with the needs of the organisation.

To ensure that the medical records for that newly registered patients are accurate and up to date according to information received from their previous GP Surgery.

To update the patients medical record with operations, procedures, diagnoses and results based upon correspondence received into the practice.

To ensure that an accurate, up-to-date medical computer summary for patients is maintained.

To ensure correspondence is workflowed according to internal protocol to the appropriate clinician or department.

To ensure practice targets for document workflow and coding are met.

To file hospital letters and documents to the patients medical record.

To provide any other administrative input as required in line with the needs of the organisation.
