Job summary
We are looking to appoint a full-time deputy practice
manager who is experienced in managing staff, to join our established and
respected GP practice in Maghull.
We are looking for an accomplished forward-thinking deputy manager and leader who understands general practice.
You will be supported by the Practice Manager and a
dedicated team of reception and admin professionals.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will:
Preferably have
previous General Practice experience.
Ensure compliance
to CQC standards, providing exemplary complaint handling.
Support the
practice manager in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and
managing staff. Ensure the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives
in a safe and effective working environment.
You will manage the
administration team daily and the smooth running of the reception.
Lead the team
promoting quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative
working, learning and development and ensuring the practice complies with CQC
regulations.

The role of Deputy Practice Manager requires a self-motivated, disciplined individual to take ownership of the efficient day to day running of the practice, and working as a key member of the Management Team.
- To take responsibility for the management of the administration staff
- To maintain Clinical Services and Appointments systems
- To ensure effective administration support
- To manage all aspects of patient information
- To provide appropriate assistance to the Practice Manager in all day-to-day activities and duties.
- Evaluate, organise and oversee staff induction and training and ensure the all staff are adequately trained to fulfil their role.
- Support practice manager in planning and co-ordination the recruitment, induction and training of new administration staff
- Monitor staff annual leave
- Update and manage the GP programmes
- Support and work with Partners, GPs' and adminsitrative staff to achieve practice targets
