Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our experienced and knowledgeable nursing team.
The role is for 17 hours per week, to be worked as follows;
Wednesday: 09:00 - 14:30
Thursday: 09:00 - 15:00
Friday: 09:00 - 14:30
Main duties of the job
You will be required to assist the practice clinical team in delivering safe, effective and high quality services to the practice population. You will undertake routine patient care under the supervision of the Nursing team, managing your own pre-booked clinics.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
NHS Health Checks
Hypertension, Coeliac, Interim Diabetes (blood only) reviews
ECG Recording
Phlebotomy
Diabetes Foot Care
Chaperoning Duties
Administering Flu, Pneumococcal, Respiratory Syncytial Virus and Shingles Vaccines
B12 injections
BP readings and ABPM
Obtaining, processions and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
Arranging sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual. To include dressings, 4 layer bandaging and suture/clip removal.

We are a friendly, progressive practice with a patient list size of approximately 9000 patients.

are a GP training practice and encourage and support personal and team
development. Our clinical system is SystmOne.
