Job summary

Following the addition of GPs to the ARRS Funding, Chorley Together PCN is looking to recruit a newly qualified, enthusiastic & forward-thinking GP to join our General Practice teams on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026.

Based at Whittle Surgery, 239 Preston Road, Chorley, this is a great opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team at one of the largest growing practices with the PCN with a current list size of approximately 11550 patients. You will be required to work 3-4 sessions per week on a Thursday and Friday. Mentorship will be provided by Dr Fairhurst, GP Partner at Whittle Surgery.

Please note: to be eligible for this role, you must be within two years of certificate of completion of training at the start date of your employment and have not previously held a substantive post as a General Practitioner

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a salaried GP to support our health care service toto continue to meet patient demands at one of our busiest practices. The post holder will need to be capable of independent travel across the network and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.

You will perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. You will provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues whilst maintaining clinical excellence. You will be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct, ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary.

Our PCN and practice teams have a positive and supporting working relationship and this role is an opportunity to enhance our PCN services further.

Our PCN staff currently includes Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Advanced Practitioner, Mental Health Practitioner, GP Assistants, Enhanced Practice Nurse, Care Coordinators, Student Nurse Associates and a Pharmacy Technician.

With good motorway links, Whittle Surgery is based in a new purpose built building in Clayton-le-Woods, approximately 3 miles from Chorley Town Centre. The building has 12 consulting rooms, a large waiting room and admin offices. On site parking is available.
