Job summary
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Working Arrangements
You will have a base at College Lane Surgery (which will also be used for the purposes of claiming mileage) but will be required to work flexibly across the PCN GP practices and premises and potentially across the Wakefield District.
As the role requires you to commute across the Wakefield District applicants should either hold a full driving licence, which is valid in the UK, and hold the relevant car insurance to cover travel for business purposes or have the ability to be mobile by using other modes of transport for which reasonable expenses will be payable.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (full time) to be worked flexibly between 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Where you may be required to support clinical services outside of these hours, time off in lieu will be made available.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the PCN/General Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients athome, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Wakefield Health Alliance South Primary Care Network (PCN) comprises five GP practices located in the South of the district: White Rose surgery, The Grange Medical practice, Park Green surgery, Langthwaite Surgery and College Lane surgery. Collectively we deliver health care services to approximately 65,000 registered patients.
WHA South is a forward thinking and supportive PCN that encourages personal development and growth. We are committed to improving patient health care with a particular focus on inequalities across the Network footprint.
The PCN team currently consists of Nurses, Pharmacists, Technicians, Care Co-ordinators, Physiotherapists, HWCs and MHPs. Together we encourage an MDT approach to patient care, integrating the vision of neighbourhood health and delivering the same excellent care and support for both our patients and staff within each of our busy surgeries.
The role holder may be placed at any of the five member practices within the South Network.
