As a vital member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with our Clinical Director, driving our dedicated clinical services teams to new heights. Main duties of the job

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a dynamic leader with a demonstrable history of senior-level operational management, including successfully implementing new services, adept financial management, and effective staff leadership. A solid understanding of the NHS and general practice landscape is crucial, as you'll be overseeing the delivery of high-quality, innovative clinical services on behalf of general practice across Wakefield.

  • Serve as the designated CQC Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and championing service quality and patient safety. Previous experience of carrying out such a role is not essential, but you will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the associated responsibilities.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with stakeholders across the Wakefield system, with a keen awareness of urgent and emergency care priorities, winter pressures, and Enhanced Access initiatives.
  • Lead by example, embodying our commitment to flexibility and excellence by participating in an on-call rota and maintaining a visible presence across various sites in the Wakefield District. The services you will be responsible for are open evenings & weekends/ bank holidays which will require a flexible approach to working hours,

As the Head of Clinical Operations at Conexus Healthcare CIC, you will serve as the senior accountable manager overseeing the operational delivery of services. In this pivotal role, you will function as the Registered Manager and hold a key position within the Board and Senior Leadership Team.

1. RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Operational Oversight

As the Head of Clinical Operations, you will bear the responsibility for both existing and new clinical services offered by Conexus. Your leadership extends to the delivery of essential services such as GP Care Wakefield, our vaccine staff bank and others. Notable services under your purview include:

- Enhanced Access contract

- Urgent Care contract

- Childrens Observation Hub

- Acute Respiratory Infection Hubs

- Health Checks contract

- Staff Bank (which currently consists of over 200 sessional workers)

- Vaccine Staff bank

b. CQC Registered Manager

In your capacity as the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards set by CQC, the Health and Safety Executive, the Information Commissioners Office and other nationally recognised standards.

c. Quality Assurance

The Head of Clinical Operations is responsible for the oversight of and escalating issues to the Board and providing assurance regarding the quality of service delivery. Collaborating with the Clinical Director, you will ensure adherence to safe clinical standards and serve as the lead manager for the Quality and Risk Committee.

d. Financial and contractual arrangements

Taking charge of the budgets associated with the service portfolio, you will be accountable for robust financial management, reporting assurance, and risk assessment for the board. Ensuring contractual compliance, you will diligently work towards meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with the services.

e. System partnerships

As the representative of the organisation, you will actively participate in various senior and external meetings, including the Urgent and Emergency Care Board, Winter Planning and Tactical groups, and Enhanced Access Board, fostering crucial system partnerships.

f. Operating Hours

Leading a substantial team operating beyond core hours, the Head of Clinical Operations must exhibit flexibility to cover these hours, ensuring effective leadership and business resilience. Additionally, active participation in on-call rotas for the services is a key expectation.
