Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Coding and Data Management: Accurately summarise and read code patient records, hospital correspondence, and other data sources into EMIS Web, ensuring adherence to protocols.

  • Mentorship: Support and mentor less experienced coders and administrators to enhance team capabilities.

  • Team Development: Contribute to improving the quality of data collection and administrative processes.

  • Daily Administration: Oversee tasks such as triaging clinical letters, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth operation of appointments and correspondence.

  • Audits and Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and identify discrepancies to maintain accurate patient records.

  • Workflow Optimisation: Assist in clinical documentation review and the improvement of practice workflows.

  • Compliance: Adhere to coding requirements for Enhanced Services (ES), Quality Outcome Framework (QOF) and Public Health Management (PHM).

  • Mailbox Management: Ensure all emails are actioned promptly.

  • iMersey Clinical Coding Qualification or equivalent (preferred, not essential).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
