Job summary
Fir Park Medical Centre is a large, well established
training practice based in Widnes. The practice recently moved to a new purpose
built state of the art building as from November 2021. The list size is approx.
11,800 patients and uses EMIS Web. The practice has a very supportive team made
up of GPs, Salaried GPs, GP registrars, F2 Doctors, Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse
Clinicians, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Paramedic, Admin & Reception staff. Due
to retirement, we are seeking a salaried GP to join our friendly team.
We can offer flexibility in the number of sessions (4-8) and a competitive salary package based on experience.
The sessions required are to include the beginning of the week, however there can be some flexibility here.
The position would also include On Call duty.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical service to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhereto the GMC standards for good medical practice,
contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example,
maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the
multidisciplinary team.
Clinical sessions will include a mixture of telephone
triage, face to face appointments, repeat prescriptions, lab reports, eConsults and
Docman.

Fir Park Medical Centre is a busy GP practice in Widnes with c11,800 registered patients. We are a training practice with 6 GPs, an ANP, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, a Practice Paramedic, 4 Practice Nurses & 2 HCAs. We moved to purpose built new premises in November 2021, which will offer expansion opportunities.

be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the
entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including
referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative
tasks
On a rotational basis On-Call Duty Doctor role
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good
practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the
practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical
guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous
improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or
areas) or the QOF
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as
required
Attend and contribute effectively to PCN Meetings as
required
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing
professional development across the practice team
Support the training of medical students from all clinical
disciplines
Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the
practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all
times
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff
regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery

Participate in the review of significant and near-miss
events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
