Job summary
We are looking to recruit a competent Medical Secretary to join our busy, dedicated team. The successful candidate will possess excellent word processing, audio typing and IT skills; be a strong communicator and will work well under pressure. They must be prepared to work across all of our sites; located in Tring, Berkhamsted, Pitstone and Markyate. The role is Part Time for approximately 20 hours a week
Main duties of the job
* Prepare and audio type all referral letters and other word processing for members of the Practice as required.
* Log all referral forms on EMIS and take copies where necessary.
* Prioritise word-processing and type any urgent letters or referrals for posting or collection on that day.
* Deal with patient queries on the telephone, e.g. regarding referrals and appointments.
* Liaise with other staff in the Practice, and with hospital secretaries/Consultants on behalf of patients.
* Prepare and type minutes of meetings.
* Action all messages, visits and information for clinical staff as appropriate.
