Job summary

Assist the Group Practice Manager in the efficient and effective running of the practice through the provision of first-class IT support. Look for innovative ways to deliver patient services and enable back-office staff to operate efficiently, balancing strategic thinking with supporting existing services and iteratively improving current systems.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for day to day support of hardware and software issues across all sites, remotely and face to face as appropriate, including data-related issues.

Support end users with a range of software including NHS Mail, Lexacom, Dispense-IT, DXS, MJog and Patient Access, and look to improve the smooth running of the practice through the implementation of new software.

Maximise our use of clinical technology, including EMIS, DXS and AccuRx.

Line management of IT troubleshooters at branch sites.

Create and manage staff Smartcards.Provide in-house training for staff on all aspects relating to IT and evaluate impact.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education
  • Formal qualification in an IT subject or equivalent

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject
  • Training on relevant software

Experience

Essential

  • Working with ICT
  • Working within a dynamic customer service environment
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical faults accurately
  • Strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, including a broad understanding of hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and system security
  • Line management
  • Providing end user training
