GP Receptionist Part-Time (Afternoons)

Job summary

We are seeking a welcoming, reliable, and patient-focused Receptionist to join our front-of-house team for three afternoon shifts per week:

Working Hours:

  • Wednesday PM 1.30pm -6.30pm

  • Thursday PM1.30pm -6.30pm

  • Friday PM1.30pm -6.30pm

You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors supporting face-to-face, telephone and online enquiries, and working collaboratively with our administrative and clinical teams.

Main duties of the job

  • Acting as the first point of contact for patient enquiries

  • Managing telephone calls and booking appointments

  • Supporting online consultations and care navigation pathways

  • Processing registrations, prescriptions and incoming documentation

  • Providing compassionate, professional support to patients and carers

  • Completing administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the practice

    Essential

    • Minimum 1 year customer service experience (any sector)
    • Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
    • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
    • Confidence using IT systems and learning new software
    • Team player with a positive, supportive attitude

    Desirable

    • Experience using EMIS Web
    • Experience using Docman
    • Experience using MS Office applications, particularly Outlook
    • Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare admin environment
