Hazeldene Medical Centre

Salaried GP 5.5 sessions a week

The closing date is 21 November 2025

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking training practice in North Manchester. With a list size of around 9,000 patients (10,500 weighted and growing), we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

This is a 5.5 session role across Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, including clinical, admin, and on-call sessions. The post also includes a dedicated weekly care home session, so experience in care home work is desirable, though support is available for the right candidate.

As a Unified Learning Environment (ULE), we regularly host medical students and GP trainees, and both partners are experienced GP trainers. You will be joining an established team that includes salaried GPs, Physician Associates, an ACP, Nurse Associates, and a Nurse Prescriber.

We offer competitive remuneration aligned with the BMA model contract, low administrative burden supported by Docman and pharmacy teams, 15 minute appointments, and a strong open door culture. Our practice encourages collaborative working, continuous learning, and wellbeing, with weekly team meetings and strong PCN integration.

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who values supportive colleagues, good work life balance, and a well organised environment where high quality care is at the heart of everything we do. We welcome informal discussions or visits prior to application.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include providing high quality clinical care across 5.5 sessions per week, comprising care home work, routine clinical appointments, on-call cover, and dedicated administrative time. You will manage a range of acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients autonomously, undertaking appropriate investigations, prescribing safely, and referring to other services when required.

The role includes a weekly care home session, participation in Thursday and Friday afternoon on-call rotas, and contribution to ongoing patient continuity. You will also be responsible for completing clinical correspondence, reviewing results, and supporting safe, effective clinical pathways.

As a training practice, you may contribute to the supervision, development, and teaching of medical learners where appropriate. You will work closely with the wider practice and PCN teams to deliver high quality, patient-centred care and support service improvement initiatives.
