About us
Located on the outskirts of
Ipswich town centre, Cardinal Medical Practice is the largest medical practice
in Suffolk and was formed as a result of a merger between Chesterfield Drive,
Deben Road and Norwich Road Surgeries. The practice is vastly dedicated to
offering high quality care to a population of approximately 30,000 patients.
The practice has a clinical team
of 4 GP Partners, 8 Salaried GP's, 2 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse
Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses,
Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional
healthcare professionals. The team is supported by Management and a large
administrative team.

The post holder will report to
the Partners (clinically) and the Practice Manager (administratively).The
following are the core responsibilities. The delivery of highly effective
medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services
commensurate with our core contract

Generic prescribing adhering to
local and national guidance
-
Effective management of long-term
conditions
- Processing of administration in a
timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other
associated administrative tasks
- On a rotational basis, undertake
the duty doctor role
- Maintain accurate clinical
records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- Work collaboratively, accepting
an appropriate pro rata share of the practice workload
- Adhere to best practice
recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contribute to the successful
implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the
practice

Attend and contribute effectively
to practice meetings as required

Ensure compliance with the
appraisal and revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and
instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making relevant contributions.

policies and participate in policy reviews when required.

- We are seeking a dedicated and passionate GP, who will be responsible for the provision of medical services to our practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with our core contract and adhering to our practice values as well as the GMC standards for Good Medical Practice.
- You will undergo yearly appraisals both in practice and also externally and will have a named mentor (whatever your experience).
