The University Medical Group is a fast growing, forward thinking and progressive GP practice (rated Outstanding by CQC) with over 33,000 patients and we are looking to recruit a meticulous and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our team

This is an opportunity for a highly self-motivated, 'can-do' individual. If you are able to work on your own initiative as well as communicate effectively in a team and enjoy working in a fast paced, busy environment, this may be the role for you.

Working Monday and Tuesday, salary dependent upon experience.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in accurately assigning medical codes to patient records.

Main duties of the job

Duties:

  • Process patient related correspondence received from healthcare providers and update information on the clinical record.
  • Assist with the completion of medical/insurance forms, MCFs. These will be subsequently be reviewed and signed off by a GP
  • Summarisation and coding of MREs and GP2GP notes
  • Review medical records and remove third party references as per protocols
  • Review prescriptions/blood forms which have not been collected and add free text entry to patient clinical record.
  • Action tasks as required
  • Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post as required

Skills:The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:- Proficiency within IT- Strong understanding of medical terminology- Excellent time management skills- Administrative competence to handle coding tasks efficiently- Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare professionals- Organisational abilities to manage coding assignments effectively
