Job summary
Firth Park Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Prescribing Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is a great opportunity to work in a well-established, forward-thinking GP
practice with a strong focus on patient care.
The candidate will need to
demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including
assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the General Practice.
The right candidate will
work as part of a clinical team which includes GP's and other ANP's in managing
acute daily demand.
To work collaboratively
with the practice team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the
delivery of policy and procedures.
Main duties of the job
3 - 4 sessions per week Tuesday & Friday
Competitive pay: £30 per hour

You will see acute, on-the-day patients, Triaged by one of our GPs supporting our
clinical team in delivering high-quality care.
To work collaboratively
with the practice team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the
delivery of policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice: Provide autonomous care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment for patients presenting with undifferentiated or complex conditions.
- Patient Management: Manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating various treatment methods, and prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
- Health Promotion: Support patients in adopting health promotion strategies and apply principles of self-care.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive primary health care services
- Care Home Support: Provide care to housebound patients and those living in care homes, including conducting ward rounds and liaising with care home staff
- Administrative Duties: Engage in administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate patient records, participating in audits, and supporting the development and implementation of practice policies.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Advanced Clinical Skills: Demonstrated advanced clinical decision-making, assessment, and management skills.
- Prescribing Qualification: Independent prescribing qualification (e.g., V300) and experience in prescribing medications safely and effectively
- Education: Evidence of continued professional development, including relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MSc in Advanced Practice).
Desirable Attributes:
- Specialist Training: Qualifications in areas such as minor illness, advanced physical assessment, or chronic disease management.
- IT Proficiency: Familiarity with clinical systems (e.g., EMIS) and proficiency in using electronic patient records.
