If so, we are looking for a part time (10 - 16 hours) Phlebotomist. Our ideal days of work for this role would be a Monday and
Thursday.
This is a varied and interesting role and you'll be joining a
friendly, supportive and hardworking team who prides themselves on providing an
excellent customer service to our patients. You will engage with patients,
doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals.
We would love to find someone who is great with people, has
excellent communication skills, a cheerful disposition, and a friendly, caring
personality. Good IT skills are a must.
Main duties of the job
To provide
a full and comprehensive Venepuncture and sampling service with due regard to
procedures governing safe clinical practice, confidentiality, cross infection
and Health and Safety and to show respect for the dignity and comfort of the
patients at all times.
To provide
an efficient and accurate sampling service on a range of patients including
children, adults and elderly ensuring that all samples are despatched to the
laboratory without delay.
To be
individually responsible for carrying out procedures for data entry and the
labelling and recording of specimens ensuring accuracy and safe practice
according to established protocols.
To have a
thorough knowledge of the appropriate range of test for each container and to
ensure that appropriate blood volumes are collected.
To carry
out urine dip tests, blood pressure readings, ECGs, and other tests as deemed
necessary by the Practice after completing the necessary training.
To
understand and carry out all duties in accordance with Health and Safety
Regulations including reporting and documentation of accidents.
To work as
part of a multidisciplinary team liaising with medical, nursing, administration
and laboratory staff.
To
communicate effectively with patients, parents and relatives so as to provide
reassurance and minimise stress.
Any other
duties that may be required appropriate for this position.

Main Responsibilities
