Job summary

Gordano Valley PCN is looking to recruit a Primary Care Network Administrator for 16 hours per week (number of hours is flexible) who will work alongside and provide administrative support to one of our Practice Manager’s within the PCN.

This role is a fixed term, part time post for 9 months. Full training will be provided during a handover period with the PCN Manager prior to her maternity leave.

You will be based within one practice within the PCN (Harbourside Family Practice), but will be expected to work flexibly across all PCN sites or from home as required.

Main duties of the job

You will be working with the Clinical Directors and Practice Managers to provide administrative duties and support with other PCN leads in the implementation of the PCN strategic plan and delivery of projects.

Liaise with the clinical directors, board members and other PCN leads about any operational issues that may need to be addressed.

Schedule and co-ordinate meetings on behalf of the Clinical Directors and minute the minutes.

Support and engage with practices to meet government targets such as IIF by running monthly searches.

About us

There are 4 practices which make up our PCN which include Clevedon Medical Centre, Harbourside Family Practice in Portishead, Heywood Family Practice in Pill and Portishead Medical Group. We have a combined patient population of over 50,000 patients.

Job responsibilities

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Liaise with the clinical directors, board members and other PCN leads about any operational issues that may need to be addressed.

Identify and monitor all PCN Performance measures. This includes DES, IIF, IA, Flu, Qof QI and any other Enhanced Services.

Order COVID vaccines in line with government guidelines and when required by each practice.

Support the Clinical Directors and Practice Managers with coordination of new PCN ARRs roles across the 4 Practices.

Support the clinical directors and other PCN leads in the implementation of the PCN strategic plan and delivery of projects.

Providing regular updates to the clinical directors, board members and PCN leads as and when required.

Own the PCN board action log and prompt PCN members of any outstanding actions. Ensure the action log is regularly updated and actions implemented.

Responsible for setting agendas as directed by the Clinical Directors, taking notes of meetings and circulating in a timely manner to Board Members .

Support and engage with practices to deliver to deadlines where combined practice responses are required.

Organise PCN events e.g Educational Events, training etc

Communicating

Maintain effective communication and engagement with patients, carers and service users, colleagues and staff.

Take an active role in keeping our social media page up to date in line with NHS and other health care related content.

Maintain open communication channels, ensuring that PCN members are kept informed of news and updates related to network activity, including the development of a regular PCN newsletter.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of primary care services & community health services.
