Job summary
The
Business Support Manager plays a key role in ensuring the effective, efficient,
and operation of the GP practice. Working closely with the Practice Manager,
the post holder is responsible for overseeing non-clinical functions including
administration, finance support, Estates Support, governance, and operational
performance.
The
role focuses on providing business support to enable high-quality patient care,
regulatory compliance, and sustainable practice development. The Business
Support Manager support teams, manages systems and processes, supports service
improvement initiatives, and contributes to financial and strategic planning.
This
role requires strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills,
with a good understanding of primary care operations, NHS frameworks, and
data-driven performance management.
Main duties of the job
The

Main
Responsibilities
Responsible for creating
and merging of new clinical templates
Monitoring QOF
statistics and creating reports to review with Practice Manager
External Reporting for
PPA claims
External claims for
Minor Surgery and other AQP services.
CQRS reporting
Ensure that Enhanced
services such as Les and Des and performing to highest standard
System 1 reporting inclusive
QOF,
Estates Management
Cleaning team
management
Payroll and finances
input
Chair Thursday Clinical
meetings in the absence of PM
To
keep in regular communication with the Practice manager to ensure all services
are performing to standard set
Retrieve quotes for building maintenance
Manage Fire drill testing Weekly
Manage website and social accounts.
Maintain
records for Building
IT
Support/ Main Point Contact

- Experience in a management or senior administrative role ideally within primary care NHS or a healthcare setting
- Experience of operational planning service delivery and performance management
- Experience working with budgets financial reporting or contract support
Desirable
- Good understanding of primary care GP practice operations
- Knowledge of NHS structures, commissioning, and regulatory requirements e.g. CQC, QOF, PCN DES
- Awareness of information governance, data protection (GDPR), and confidentiality requirements
