Job summary

The Olive Family Practicecurrently have a vacancy for a part-time receptionist/ admin assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and positive individual who will strive to deliver a high standard of service to patients and the public in an efficient and courteous manner. The ideal candidate must be a team player and ideally has experience in previously working with the public.

Main duties of the job

Having a professional and courteous manner, you will be dealing with the public and other organisations both within the NHS and beyond on a daily basis by telephone or in person. You are expected to be aware of and adhere to strict patient confidentiality. We are looking for someone with an excellent track record in; written and communication skills, computer skills, telephone and message taking skills, organisational skills and be able to work well in a team or on your own using your initiative.

About us

We are a GP Practice based in Pikes Lane Health Centre

We currently have 3 GPs, 1 Practice Manager,1 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant,5 Receptionists, 1 Health Improvement Practitioner (H.I.P.), 1 Mental Health practitioner, 1 MSK Practitioner and3 Pharmacists and together we make a great team.

We have a list size of 4,600 patients

Job responsibilities

Hours will be16-20 per week over the practice opening hours of 8 am - 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. Salary according to experience.The desirable candidate must be reliable and flexible, and being able to cover for others within the team during annual leave and sick leave is essential. Working in a public facing roll, you must be approachable, friendly and caring, have good computer skills and the ability to work well within a team. Having reception experience - preferably within a GP Practice - would be beneficial along with the ability to remain calm and work effectively when under pressure. You will be the first point of contact for callers by telephone and in person, including patients, relatives, carers, doctors, healthcare staff, and other NHS organisations such as hospitals etc...Our clinical software system is SystmOne, and knowledge of this is desirable, however training will be provided.
