Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced practice nurse to join our friendly nursing team. We are based less than a mile from Halesowen town centre and 8 miles from Birmingham city centre with excellent links to the midlands motorway network. Our location places us on the boundary of Dudley and Worcestershire council boroughs and our patient population includes patients from nearby semi-rural towns of Romsley and Hayley Green. We are the lead practice for Halesowen Primary Care Network with our senior partner as Clinical Director. Our current nursing team consists of one Nurse Practitioner, three practice nurses, one Nursing Associate and two Healthcare Assistants. The role will be 16 hours per week as follows: Tuesday 8.30am-1.00pm, Wednesday 3.00pm-8.30pm, Friday 9.00am-2.00pm. We offer 5 weeks annual leave plus pro-rata bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Candidates will ideally have experience in a primary care setting, however applications may be considered if the relevant skills can be demonstrated. The role will include, long term condition reviews, wound care management, childhood and adult immunisations, womens health and the care of patients who attend general practice. We are particularly keen on applicants with an interest in Diabetes. You should be able to demonstrate on your CV the ability to cope in a busy environment. You will need to be a qualified nurse with an up to date NMC registration and evidence of continual professional development.

About us

Our team cares for 10,000 patients. We are a training practice for Speciality GP Registrars. We have an excellent team of administrative staff to offer support and assistance to both our clinicians and our patients. We have a fantastically friendly team ethic and encourage a team approach in everything we do. We are supported by the district nursing team and health visitors who are based within Halesowen. Additionally, we are fortunate to have on-site phlebotomy clinics, community mental health practitioners and in-house pharmacists to assist in prescribing administration. We have a range of PCN services to support our population needs. We use Emis Web and Docman.
