Job summary

We are looking for an outstanding Practice Business Manager who can lead and manage the day to day running of the Practice, covering particularly finance, human resources, and compliance with regulatory bodies.

You will have proven experience as a leader and manager ideally within a healthcare setting. Together with our two Operations Managers (both of whom will report to you) the successful candidate will be focused on ensuring that our Practice delivers high quality care to our patient population.

Whilst we are looking for a full time commitment over five days, we are prepared to consider full time hours but worked over four days, or part time with a minimum 32 hours worked over four days.

Main duties of the job

As our Practice Business Manager you will be responsible for providing operational oversight and leadership to ensure the smooth running of Nightingale Valley Practice.

You will be passionate about providing leadership and promoting the organisations values to enable the practice to meet its agreed aims and objectives within a profitable, efficient, safe, and effective working environment.

In this role you will assist the Partners in the day-to-day organisation and financial management of the Practice to deliver high quality care to our patient population.

You will be an exceptional people manager with skills to develop our passionate and committed team. You will assist in shaping a long-term view for the practice amid the challenging and changing landscape of the NHS.

About us

We are a high performing practice, working across two sites, delivering healthcare to over 15,300 patients.

We provide a comprehensive range of Primary Care services to our patients with a strong emphasis on quality and care in a supportive friendly atmosphere.

As an established training practice, GP registrars and medical students work at our practice at various stages of their training and we have our own DFSRH trainers. We are also a successful, high recruiting sessional research practice.

You will:

  • oversee and manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the GP practice, ensuring efficient and effective functioning working closely with Partners and management team,
  • handle financial management tasks, including budgeting, financial reporting, and managing accounts payable and receivable,
  • recruit, hire, and manage the administrative and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed,
  • ensure the practice's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and meet the necessary standards and regulations,
  • ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards, staying updated on changes and implementing necessary changes,
  • address patient complaints and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, fostering positive patient relations,

  • Whilst experience of working in a Practice Manager role would be ideal it is not essential You must, however, be able to help us deliver the exceptional level of care our patients deserve by having the following skills:
  • at least three years experience within a leadership and management role ideally within a health care setting,
  • experience of leading multidisciplinary teams effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment,
  • excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and stakeholders,
  • excellent people management skills, with an ability to coach and manage performance,
  • proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management,
