Job summary

Park Green Surgery require a Salaried GP to work in a long-established, successful surgery with excellent support in South Kirkby, Pontefract. The PMS Practice works from a spacious, modern surgery providing a stimulating working environment and affords patient continuity to achieve high-quality care outcomes. Actively involved with the PCN to provide enhanced integrated services within the community.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the PMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. The practice has weekly MDT meetings to encourage team working.

About us

Key information 6-8 sessions a week. Practice population circa 11,000 patients. Friendly and cohesive team of 4 GPs, 3 ANPs and Home Visiting Nurse. Excellent Management and support team ensure the practice is well organised and structured. In-house Clinical Pharmacist. In-house Home Visiting Matron. PCN ARR staff include Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physio and Paramedic. SystmOne. Key Benefits Salary negotiable dependant on experience - minimum £10,000. Job description

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.

b. The provision of services commensurate with the PMS contract and Primary Care Network.

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.

d. Effective management of long-term conditions in line with QOF requirements.

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.

f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.

g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.

h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload, including filing test results, home visits and rotational on calls.

i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.

j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.

k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF.

l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.

m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.

n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process.

o. Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.

p. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.

q. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times.

r. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times.

Secondary Responsibilities In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to: a. Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead b. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care c. Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
