Job summary
We are a well-established training practice located within the North East London Primary Care Network, serving 9,000 patients, and maintaining strong links with Newham Hospital.
We are seeking a dedicated Salaried GP to join our team for 6 to 8 sessions per week. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, addressing a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, and will be committed to delivering the highest standards of care to both registered and temporary patients. Main duties of the job
In accordance with the Practice as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage calls, triage visits, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
To assist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions.
Completion of clinically related administrative and non clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service.
Refer patients for further opinions and interventions according to Practice protocols. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

• Participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to the improvement in quality of health outcomes through the practice’s audit programme.
• Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of the GMS contract.
• Engaging in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including the completion of objectives agreed by yourself and your appraiser.
• Participating in the training and development of nurses and non-clinical staff.
• To undertake daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing etc. for own workflow and for other teams as required.
• At all times to behave in a professional way that encourages quality practice and the development of team spirit.
