Health Care Assistant -The Park Surgery

We are in search of a compassionate and dedicated individual who excels as a collaborative team member. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, delivering care within the boundaries of their role and in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols.

Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HCA tasks including ECGs, health promotion, wound care, long-term condition reviews, venepuncture, stock management and assisting GPs with coil fittings.

About us

Inspire Healthcare is comprised of 5 general practice surgeries working across three of Gloucestershires Primary Care Networks (PCNs) - TWNS, South Cotswolds and St Paul's PCN.We are based at two sites, the Park Surgery in Cirencester and Lechlade Medical Centre in Lechlade.

Our practice population across the two sites is around 12000 patients.

Cirencester is a vibrant and attractive market town, and the surgery is a short walk from the centre of town. Lechlade is a beautiful small Cotswolds town with a great sense of community.

We use SystmOne and are CQC rated good.

Job description

Job responsibilities

We are committed to delivering exceptional care to our local communities. At The Park, youll become an essential member of our much-loved surgery backed by a larger dynamic and supportive team.

Main Duties and General Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Undertake new patient health checks
  • Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
  • Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximitery, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findings accurately
  • Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
  • Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
  • Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
  • Carry out BMI checks as directed
  • Act as a chaperone as required
  • When trained, undertake venepuncture
  • When trained, administer flu vaccinations
  • When trained, carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse
  • Carry out ECGs as requested
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
  • Provide support during minor operations as required
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
  • Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisations IPC policy
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriat

Part-time, hours are negotiable.

Salary:Dependant on experience and qualification
