Phlebotomist -The Park Surgery

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients and ensuring their safe and accurate collection. Your attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to your success in this role.

Our
Practice
The Park Surgery has recently joined the Inspire Group. The group is guided by a passionate team of six dedicated GP Partners. Inspire is comprised of 5 general practice surgeries working across three of Gloucestershires Primary Care Networks (PCNs) - TWNS, South Cotswolds and St Paul's PCN.We are based at two sites, the Park Surgery in
Cirencester and Lechlade Medical Centre in Lechlade.
Our practice population across the two sites
is around 12000.
Collectively we are a team of 3 Partners, salaried
GPs, 1 Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager, an ANP, Nurses, HCAs,
physiotherapists, pharmacist, pharmacy technician and an excellent
administrative team and we also work very closely with a frailty team. We pride
ourselves in providing excellent patient centered care, continuous service
improvement and a team-based approach.
Cirencester is a vibrant and attractive market
town, and the surgery is a short walk from the centre of town. Lechlade is a
beautiful small Cotswolds town with a great sense of community.
We use SystmOne and are CQC rated good.

Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients in accordance with practice protcols
- Collect blood samples and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the phlebotomy area
- Adhere to aseptic techniques during all procedures
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during blood collection procedures
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Current certification as a Phlebotomist (CPT) preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
