Mendip Vale Medical Group (MVMG) are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Digital Lead to join our team, as we continue to expand in our friendly and innovative practices serving over 85,000 patients within our 10 sites in North Somerset, Bristol & South Gloucester.
As the Digital Lead you will assist the Digital Director with the reporting and auditing of patient services to ensure the surgery is able to offer the required healthcare to patients in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Digital Director and Business Support team you will provide expertise to enable MVMG to support the practice in meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements for digital activities.
Supporting the delivery of MVMG agreed aims and objectives within a sustainable, efficient, safe and effective working environment. The post-holder will oversee and support the setup and maintenance of the appropriate systems so that all our team use IT in a consistent and efficient way.
The Digital Lead will, in conjunction with the Digital Director establish and maintain a schedule of regular reporting and auditing.
The Digital Lead will develop good working relationships with:
- Patients
- Business Support Team and the wider surgery staff
- Key stakeholders across the whole of BNSSG

To ensure that all data handled is recorded and processed efficiently to enable best patient care.
To support the production of appropriate reports and auditing for clinicians, organisational targets and analysis of business trends.
To monitor, plan and implement the best hardware and software solutions for the surgery.

- In conjunction with the Digital Director establish a set of protocols for the surgery to ensure the accurate input of data and enable access of information as necessary.
- Identify the necessary IT resources to future proof the service in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ensure templates and protocols are up to date and accurately entered within required timeframes using correct read codes for the purpose of extracting data for audits and analysis.
- Identify and set up appropriate data searches.
- Working with the Digital Director to maintain contents on the practice intranet.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post holders role as agreed with the Digital Director.
- Support training and events where appropriate for the development of the MVMG team the post holder is responsible for.
- Responsible for the induction of staff, ensuring that recruitment is in line with current business needs.
