Job summary

About us

We are busy practice in the heart of Gilfach Goch and provide General Medical Services to 7000 patients. We have 5 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GP's, 1 ANP, 2 Practice nurses, 3 HCA's, 1 Practice Manager, 1 Deputy Practice Manager and 10 administration team members. We have a purpose built building with ample staff and patient parking. We offer practice sick pay scheme, annual leave loyalty scheme and flexible working hours.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will:-

Undertake clinical tasks as delegated by the Nurse Manager / Practice Nurse eg simple wound dressings, venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, Spirometry, New patient examinations, urinalysis, chaperone, Lifestyle clinics. Height / Weight/ Peak flow meter readings / inhaler technique and vaccinations.

Undertake essential nursing care in line with the patients care plan eg diabetes care maintaining the patients dignity.

Report any apparent change in the patients condition/environment to the Practice Manager / Practice Nurse.

Maintain accurate and legible signed records while maintaining confidentiality.

Maintain a high standard of care, adhering at all times to the Cwm Gwyrdd Medical Centres policies, guidelines and procedures.

Support carers and families in conjunction with other agencies.

Undertake essential nursing care as delegated by the Practice Manager / Practice Nurse and GPs in line with the patients care.

Participate in the provision of a programme of intervention of health issues of concern as instructed by the Practice Manager / Practice Nurse.

Respecting patient / client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or at least 1 years experience working
  • Qualified in Venepuncture and Immunisations.

Desirable

  • Experience working as a Healthcare Support Worker in other settings preferably GP Practice/Hospital
  • Driving License/car owner
  • Basic nursing care skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a large team.
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to respond to changing situations
  • Awareness of own coping strategies
