Job summary

We are looking for a salaried GP (4-8 sessions) to join our friendly, supportive team as we expand our clinical services and team. We have a team of 4 GP partners and 1 salaried GP working alongside and supervising an established on the day team of allied healthcare professionals. This is in addition to our great admin and nursing teams. We are supported by an experienced clinical pharmacist, phlebotomists, mental health nurses and first contact physio.

We offer 12.5 minute appointments reflecting the increasing complexity of primary care and clinical supervision/mentorship over coffee in every morning clinic. Additionally we have developed a clinical coding team to reduce the admin burden of GPs and there are opportunities to teach medical students.

We Offer:

4-8 sessions per week to be agreed

6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave pro-rata per annum

Mentoring and support from colleagues

Salary dependant on experience

Main duties of the job

The role will support the GPs and MDT to deliver all aspects of a salaried GPs role including acute and routine care and contribute to the development and progression of the Practice

Job description

Job responsibilities

Core responsibilities:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. On a rotational basis undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

h. Work collaboratively accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas)

l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice

n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process

p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

q. Support the training of medical students

r. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice

s. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

t. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

Secondary responsibilities:

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:

a. Participate in practice audits

b. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
