Job summary

The practice is paper-light and the main responsibilities are to scan and attach correspondence letters received into patients electronic medical records, and with appropriate training, to Read Code relevant clinical information.

Main duties of the job

The following tasks are the responsibly of the Data assistant to ensure all tasks are carried out :

  • processing all information about patients received via the generic email address i.e. letters from hospitals following outpatient appointments andnotifying GPs if any further action is required
  • opening, distributing and scanning the daily post, and action where indicated by sending Practice Note to GPs
  • scanning on documentation requested by the GPs via internal post

  • backfilling for annual leave or sickness absence of other DQ staff
