Job summary

As a highly successful and continuously developing GP practice in Thorne, South Yorkshire, we are looking for a pro-active and dedicated HR and Operations Manager to join the team. You will be working alongside the Business Manager and a Nurse Manager as part of the management team reporting to the partners.

We have a brilliant team and are involved in training students and ARRS. We offer a very flexible working schedule. The pandemic has enabled us to develop new and innovative ways of working, putting us in an excellent position for the future. As a pro-active member of the local Primary Care Network, we embrace collaborative working and the challenges that it brings.

Working out of two purpose-built surgeries, we have very modern and well-equipped rooms. Our HR and Operations Manager will be an essential part of the team and growth plans. We are a very tight knit group, and all the staff are key team members and are very well looked after both on a personal and business level, even supplied with regular cups of tea and coffee plus the occasional slice of cake!

Main duties of the job

Day to day management of the practice

HR management, staff training, shifts and rota changes and other HR issues.

Health and Safety and protocol reviews.

Patient relations management

CQC lead

GDPR lead

IT and Building issues contact.

Representing the practice at external meetings

About us

The practice has three GP partners and a salaried GP, two ANPs, a PA and a large nursing and healthcare team who are supported by our reception and back office administration team.

Our total forty staff members need someone to help guide, support and work with them in sustaining the practice.

  1. HR Management, including absence management, PDP reviews, recruitment and succession planning, appraisals, record keeping and compliance
  2. Support Staff training to include face to face and online training. Ensure training schedules are adhered to and kept
  3. Contribute to development and sustainability of the practice.
  4. CQC ready, including but not limited to policies and protocols up to date and training records complete and accurate for all staff, waste consignment notes logged and up to date
  5. Clinical Rotas (GPs and ANPs) and oversee nursing and reception rotas. Locum procurement were necessary.
  6. Health and Safety risk assessments Staff/Building/Fire etc. ensuring legal requirements met.
  7. Contractual returns, e.g. EDec, safeguarding, IG and target etc.
  8. Organising equipment testing and reviews
  9. GDPR compliance and management
  10. Patient issues and complaints handling.
  11. Representing the practice at external meetings at PCN and Practice management level
  12. IT liaison, system access and smartcard maintenance
