Job summary
Goldington Avenue surgery is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)/ pharmacist/ paramedic who can prescribe and treat minor illness to join our dynamic and friendly healthcare team. The role will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced clinical care to patients across a range of specialties and minor illness. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
You will become a part of a forward-thinking training practice which has significantly evolved during these times of change to enable us to provide excellent patient care, whilst protecting and supporting our valued team.
This key role will play an important part in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will work autonomously within your scope of practice, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions.
Salary: Dependant on experience
Hours: Minimum 3 days per week.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the role include
- Deliver a high standard of patient care, using advanced autonomous clinical skills, and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
- Manage acute illnesses, long-term conditions, and minor ailments.
- As an independent prescriber: prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication as defined by current legislative framework (independent prescriber qualification required).
- Work within the triage system and urgent care services within the practice.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills.
- To keep up to date with training development (and we want to support career development)

- Knowledge of SystmOne.
- Experience in a primary care or urgent care setting.
- Experience in diagnosing and treating patients who present with acute medical and minor illnesses.
