An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic part time practice nurse to join our highly effective and friendly practice team working 24 hours over 3 days.
The successful candidate will be joining our team of 3 Practice Nurses, 2 ANPs, 3 HCAs and 8 GPs who are supported by a large administrative team.
The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC and have experience of working in GP practice setting.

Main duties of the job
Being a Practice Nurse will give you the opportunity to have a variation in your working week.
Some of the duties include:
- Cervical Smears
- Chronic Disease Management including; diabetes, hypertension, CHD, asthma, COPD.
- Immunisations (eg. Travel / Childhood / Flu / Covid )
- Family planning

Peak of Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, close to

standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance
to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team

- Assessing problems presented
opportunistically by patients, dealing with minor illness.
- Able to document Consultations according to
NMC guidelines
- Chronic disease management
- Offer family planning and cervical cytology
- Offer advice about childhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines are administered under patient group directions.
- Provide a holistic approach to wound
management and implement wound care in line with current evidence based
guidelines.
- Ensure infection control guidelines are
maintained.
- Able to recognize and manage anaphylaxis
according to current UK guidelines.
- Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
according to current UK guidelines.
- Running well person clinics and health
promotion programmes by providing a holistic assessment and lifestyle
advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise.
- To set up and run specialist clinics as
appropriate.
- Follow agreed clinical protocols.
- Offer a holistic approach to travel health
by providing comprehensive advice to patients prior to travel including;
vaccinations and medicines, safe sex, food hygiene, sun protection.
