Job summary

Oakfields Health Group is recruiting for an experienced, qualified Dispensing Assistant

Working up to full time, part time and job share considered.

Salary: £12.80 per hour

Main duties of the job

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Quick, efficient and accurate dispensing of medication to patients, including checking prescriptions.

A high standard of customer service, dealing with all queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.

Effective and timely integration of patient care, including clinical system data input.

Excellent communications with pharmaceutical suppliers and local pharmacies.

You must have a Qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2) qualification or have relevant dispensing experience equivalent to level 2.

About us

Oakfields Health Centre, part of Oakfields Health Group, is a busy dispensing GP practice employing high calibre individuals and we currently have a vacancy in our Dispensary. Easy access from Newcastle, Gateshead and Durham. Please note that although we have a Newcastle postcode the practice is based in the Derwentside locality of County Durham. The practice is situated on a main bus route and free parking is available.

The preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, record keeping & stock control

Ensuring all medicines are dispensed accurately and promptly and checked appropriately

To provide a high standard of customer service by dealing with all queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way

To ensure that the dispensary is kept clean & tidy at all times and medicines are stored safely & in the proper place

To ensure good integration of patient care at Oakfields Health Centre

To maintain excellent communications with suppliers

  • Qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2) or relevant dispensing experience equivalent to level 2

  • Flexible working able to increase hours to provide cover when required
  • Able to stand for long periods
