CLINICAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide
holistic, autonomous nursing services in booked clinics.
Assess
patients' physical, psychological, and social needs, initiating diagnostic
procedures and treatment, including prescribing and referrals.
Set
and adhere to care standards following agreed protocols.
Support
the management of patients with long-term conditions and make referrals to
specialists as needed.
Provide
expert assessment, treatment services, and healthcare advice.
Perform
triage and assist in managing patient flow and throughput.
Perform
and assist in minor procedures, investigatory processes, and collection of
pathology samples.
Manage
chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, and diabetes, including medication
reviews and therapeutic adjustments.
Conduct
health assessments, administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and
deliver various health interventions.
Support
health needs related to sexual health, contraception, cervical cytology, and
immunisation programs.
Manage
hypertension reviews, new patient health checks, and provide opportunistic
wound care.
Participate
in vaccination and immunisation programs for adults and children.
PROFESSIONAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain
a high standard of professional conduct and care, in line with NMC regulations.
Participate
in teaching and mentorship of nursing staff, medical students, and others as
appropriate.
Attend
relevant courses, meetings, and seminars to stay professionally updated.
Ensure
nursing activities align with the practices policies and contribute to their
development.
GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
All
practice staff must be adaptable and willing to undertake additional duties or
relinquish current responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of the
practice. The Board of Partners reserves the right to redistribute duties and
functions based on service needs and the skills of the post-holder.
The
post-holder must maintain up-to-date professional registration and comply with
the Code of Professional Conduct, including self-assessment of performance and
accountability for actions, whether independently or under supervision.
Contribute
to team effectiveness by reflecting on personal and team activities, suggesting
improvements, and enhancing overall performance. Work collaboratively with
individuals from other agencies to meet patients needs effectively.
Manage
personal time, workload, and resources efficiently. Attend relevant training as
identified through appraisal, personal development plans, or practice
requirements, including mandatory training (e.g., Basic Life Support, Child
Protection, Infection Control). Apply and share knowledge and skills acquired
from such training within the practice.
Adhere
to health and safety legislation and local policies, working in a safe manner
to avoid risk to oneself and others. Comply with confidentiality rules related
to patient, staff, and business information as a contractual requirement.
Organise,
coordinate, and lead the clinical team in providing services, promoting the
practice, and maintaining its positive reputation within the local health
economy. Lead in administrative and professional responsibilities of the
practice team. Ensure accurate, legible documentation of all consultations,
treatments, and attendances, and keep the clinical computer system up to date.
Maintain data collection requirements.
Lead
and participate in staff and practice meetings. Develop and maintain close
working relationships with reception, office staff, and other colleagues. Build
and foster good working relationships with other service providers. Ensure
adherence to all safeguarding practices and procedures.
ADMINISTRATIVE
RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep
accurate and detailed records of procedures, including the use of practice
computer systems and templates.
Ensure
accurate documentation for patient care, including batch numbers for
administered treatments.
