We are a friendly, thriving and really
supportive training practice looking for a salaried GP to expand our excellent GP team of four
doctors, a practice nurse, HCA, MSK practitioner, prescribing practice pharmacist and social prescriber. We are looking for a dynamic and
enthusiastic GP / GP trainer. The right candidate will need to demonstrate the
key skills required to manage a personal patient list whilst working within a
multidisciplinary team. We offer both remote and in practice clinical sessions.
Experience with EMIS Web operating system would be helpful. Excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly when required are
essential. A special interest is preferable. We are a PMS training practice,
serving 9800 patients in the centre of Haringey Green Lanes, London, in a
modern recently refurbished purpose-built premise. We have monthly
multi-disciplinary team meetings, educational and clinical meetings. Our
Practice is part of a Primary Care Network and actively involved in a range of
schemes and services to provide high quality care to the local population.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal
with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the
highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in primary care;
- Experience of working in UK general practice
- Experience in maintaining patients records at an acceptable standard for audit purposes
- To understand the patients perspective in developing and delivering quality services

- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions (with support and supervision during the I&R phase) in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
