Job summary

Belvoir Health Group are recruiting a Nursing Services Manager to lead the nursing provision across our three GP surgeries in Rushcliffe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the nursing provision provides high quality outcomes for patients and works efficiently and seamlessly with other practice teams and services.

Main duties of the job

The team is made up of nurses, nursing associates, HCAs and phlebotomists and works across our three sites in Bingham, Cropwell Bishop and Cotgrave. The role is a management one and a key focus will be enabling the current team to perform to their best. You should already have experience of leading a team and ideally a management qualification and must be a registered nurse with at least 5 years experience in your chosen field. Ideally you will have experience of working in Primary Care. We are looking for an individual that is people focused, is able to think strategically and who understands the importance of engaging and supporting the team via good communication, team working and a clear agenda.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide authoritative yet kind, motivational & creative leadership of the BHG Nursing & HCA team, in order to support high quality, safe & compassionate primary health care. To ensure direction, alignment & commitment within the nursing/HCA team to local & national guidance & goals. To act as a good role model and line manager for BHG Practice Nurses & HCAs & promote collective leadership across the team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

With the support of and collaboration with other senior BHG management staff & Partners to:

1. Organise & Lead on the delivery & performance of the nursing/ HCA service within BHG, helping the practice operate in a cost-effective manner & promoting teamwork within the team & within the practice generally.

2. Provide Clinical Leadership:

Developing & ensuring adherence to Clinical Governance and Quality Indicator targets, relevant to the nursing/HCA team.

Develop nursing team specific policies and ensure that all Practice policies relevant to nursing/ HCA care are fully implemented, including identification & management of nursing care risks.

Support teaching & mentoring by promoting a learning environment for all & supporting team members personal development by identifying and addressing any training needs through regular appraisals, whilst ensuring that all essential training is completed.

3. Provide HR Leadership:

Support the existing HR & management team with the management of HR related issues specific to the Nurse/HCA team.

4. Provide core Practice Nursing duties & maintain their own competencies & qualifications accordingly, to include, but not limited to, performing cervical cytology, dressings, phlebotomy, vaccinations & immunisations, long term condition reviews.
