Salaried GP Vacancy 3 sessions per week

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic salaried GP to join the team in our friendly, high-achieving and forward thinking training practice. We are offering a competitive salary, based on experience.

Village Health Group (VHG) is a large GMS practice of around 26,000 patients in Rushcliffe, South Nottinghamshire. The practice formed in April 2020 from the merger of East Leake Medical Group and Keyworth Medical Practice, both of which have been rated outstanding by the CQC. VHG works across four sites, with our main sites in East Leake and Keyworth and branch surgeries in Ruddington and Sutton Bonington. We are a part dispensing practice.

VHG has 11 GP partners working together with a wide range of health care professionals including salaried GPs, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, health care assistants, clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists social prescribing link workers and care-coordinators. We are well supported by the local community nursing and therapy teams and we have a well-developed model of multidisciplinary working. We use SystmOne clinical system and accuRx. We are well supported by our Patient Participation Group.

Main duties of the job

We are an accredited training practice for both GP Registrars and University of Nottingham medical students and an active research practice. In addition, mentoring will be offered for newly qualified GPs.

We are leading members of PartnersHealth, a partnership of Rushcliffe GP practices, which supports practice resilience and provides a platform for the development of high quality general practice locally.It has a long track record of innovation and close partnership working across all GP practices in Rushcliffe. VHG is also a leading member of Rushcliffe Primary Care Network (PCN).

Job Purpose:

Provision of GMS services to the Practice population.

Effective clinical administration, audit and management.

Contribute to the Practice team by being an effective team member and attend appropriate clinical meetings (eg MDT).

Management of a patient caseload.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS contract

2.Comply with all the objectives of the GMS Contract

3. Comply with all the clinical procedures and protocols (at practice and CCG level)

4. Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system

5. Carrying out clinical audit as appropriate

6. Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies and others

7. Liaise with other health care professionals when required

8. Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship

9. Take an active role and contribute to Practice meetings

10. Participate in telephone triage, on call, debriefing F2 and GPRs on a rotational basis

11. Adhere to the practice Health and Safety policy

12. In agreement with partners , have clinical responsibility for a care home/learning disability home

13. Participate in the GP appraisal scheme

14. Attend Practice training sessions whenever possible

15. Maintain medical currency in line with your Personal Development Plan

16. Contribute to the development and improvement of the Practice

17. Be prepared to provide cover for partner holidays with reasonable advance notice

18. Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.

19. Actively contribute towards QOF targets and other Enhanced services
