Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity forReceptionist/Administrators to join our team.

Village Health Group is located in 4 sites across South Rushcliffe and currently serves 25,637 patients. We are looking to recruit two confident and dynamic people to greet patients and answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner, direct calls, take messages, and provide a first class service to patients of the Practice. Please see the job description and person specification for more details.

The successful applicants would be required to work 37.5 hours per week, between 07:45 to 18:30 on a rota basis. They would also need to be able to travel to all of our 4 sites, so access to transport will be essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will need to have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation, be IT literate and have a desire to grow and succeed within the organisational structure.

A background in a related administrative role would be useful but is not essential, but a desire to learn is a must. Training will be provided to the right candidate and previous applicants need not apply.

Job Title:Reception/Admin

Responsible to:Team Leader / Practice Manager

Responsible for:N/A

Job Purpose:To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Making appointments

2.Taking requests for prescriptions from housebound patients

3.Giving out results

4.Ambulance transport bookings for on the day service

5.Home visit requests

6.Deal with general enquiries and complaints

7.Contacting other providers

Reception Duties

8.Register new patients and temporary residents, when required

9.Greet and direct patients and visitors

10.Making appointments

11.Handing out prescriptions

12.Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary

13.Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery

14.Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services

15.Deal with general enquiries and complaints

Filing

16.Filing and retrieving paperwork as requested (eg. Lloyd George envelopes)

Prescriptions

17.Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions

18.Raising prescriptions as per Practice protocols

19.Dealing with queries relating to prescriptions

General

20.Input and extract information from Practice computer system

21.Observe health and safety guidelines at all times

22.General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)
