Job summary

Wollaton Park Medical Centre is looking to recruit a Practice Nurse to come and join us. You will be enthusiastic and motivated, have a positive attitude towards patients, colleagues and work. Be able to demonstrate good communication skills and have an ability to work under pressure.

The job will be 32 hours per week ideally a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Main duties of the job

We are ideally looking for someone who has experience in the following areas:

  • Cytology
  • Wound care
  • Removal of Sutures/clips
  • ECG's
  • Administration of injections including B12, contraceptives and hormonal therapy, flu vaccines, whooping cough
  • Asthma Reviews
  • Hearing tests
  • NHS Healthchecks
  • Annual Reviews
  • Venepuncture - this could also include home visit bloods
  • Ear Syringing
  • Routine/Childhood and Travel Immunisations
  • Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
  • Contraceptive reviews
  • Spirometry

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:

  • To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care, in conjunction with nursing team colleagues, to the practice population.
  • To focus both in the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long-term conditions and the provision of preventative health care to the practice population.
  • To provide nursing care to practice patients to include primary care treatment, preventative care, screening and education.
  • he post holder will be required take an active role to support efficient and effective service delivery to the practice population of approximately 10,792 patients.
  • To take an active role in supporting the practice to maximise achievement against local and national targets in respect of the PMS contract, QOF and Enhanced Services.

    To work effectively with the integrated nursing teams to provide quality nursing care throughout the Practices.

    5. Reporting and treatment of sharps injuries
